Job Purpose Summary:   The International Education and Resource Network of Pakistan  is seeking a full time qualified, young professional who is willing to pursue career in education and work with peers and experts globally with physical disability. The ideal candidate is required  to support and implement the  range of educational iEARN programs focusing teachers and young people with physical disability. Since Information and Communication Technology, Community Service and Media is the key tool for all SIE (Society for International Education) projects and program, the candidate will be responsible for engaging students and educators with physical disability in these project activities . He/she will be based at iEARN Centre Karachi, and will be responsible for the design and development of iEARN programs, projects and professional development activities for teachers  and students with physical disabilities. The ideal candidate should have a balance of special education, community mobilization, ICT and administrative/management skills.

Extensive on job training would be provided for 4 weeks from the date of joining.

Key Responsibilities :

·   Work alongside iEARN team for promotion, outreach, recruitment, selection and support of students with physical disability for the  YES-Youth Exchange and Study Program.

• Develop and maintain a system of  liasoning with the iEARN partner schools, organizations working with and for students with disability and keep the members database updated.

·   Develop, direct and deliver iEARN Beginners and other subject specific or ICT integrated training modules and workshops focusing students with disability.

• Work closely with and mobilizing the  iEARN alumni specially the ones returning from USA after completing the one year Youth Exchange and Studies Program to run projects for special needs and disable students .

• Other job related duties as assigned.

Education:  Masters/Bachelors Special Education or Social Work required or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Knowing Pakistani and American sign languages is compulsory. People with Bachelors degree would be considered only if they have work experience and can use the above mentioned sign languages.

Experience:  5 year(s) of relevant experience required, people with less experience or fresh graduates with some teaching experience can be considered if they have command on sign languages.

• Can use Pakistani and American sign languages and Braille;
• Complete command over working with computers including internet and MS office;
• Excellent command over written and spoken English and Urdu.
• Experience of working in the classrooms or with physically disabled students aged 5-.21;
•  Experience coordinating educational programs with special need or physically disabled people is a strong asset;
•  Experience with developing, delivering and coordinating professional development training programs and workshops;
•  Experience in volunteering, youth programs and community service would be an asset.
