iEARN Curriculum Enrichment Program 2005
This is a series of iEARN training workshops organized as part of the iEARN BRIDGE Program for educators from iEARN partner schools. These are day long training modules focused at different categories of iEARN projects that have potential for enriching and enhancing a wide range of curriculum areas. Melissa Tylee an Australian teacher would be available for school based follow up support mostly for the project implementation that requires helping students and teachers with the iEARN Interactive Forum work.
Program Goals:
- Project Based Learning for achieving curriculum goals
- Planning for and participation in a range of curriculum based online projects in the classrooms
- Explore the telecommunications projects related to the different curriculum areas i.e. Creative Arts, Reading, Writing and Language Arts, Social Studies, Research, Current Affairs and Service Learning.
- Get hands on experience of innovative teaching techniques and have access to and learn from a rich teaching a collection of resources for enriching different subject areas.
Program Details:
Date and Timings (Karachi):
- The workshops would be held at the iEARN Centre-Karachi .

- The workshops are designed for teachers who already have some experience of iEARN project participation. The teachers with no iEARN experience can enroll for a day long Introductory Workshop for iEARN Project Based Learning.
- Timings are 9:00am-2:00pm for each workshop on Saturdays
- The dates and time for the Introductory iEARN workshop would be communicated depending on the number of professionals requiring the introductory workshops.
Cost:
The cost of these workshops and training programs are subsidized by the iEARN-BRIDGE grant. However the participating teachers/schools are required to pay a nominal registration fee per teacher per workshop of Rs.250/= that the will cover part of the cost of the resource packs and CDRoms that will be given to every participating teacher.
Registration:
- Last date for registration is 25th August 2005
- To register, school Principals , Vice Principals, Headteachers or Administrators can complete and sign the Registration Form , attach the payments in the form of a bank draft/pay order or a crossed check in the name of “Society for International Education”. Cash payments can be made in person at the iEARN Centre.
- Teachers interested to participate individually can also register.
