Youth Voluntary Activity by
Ace International School Lahore
Ace International School Lahore organized a community service
activity to mobilize our youth to take part in volunteering activities as part
of the Global Youth Service Day even with regard to iEARN's Youth Volunteering
and Community Service Program .

The students of Ace International had chosen to help the orphans and the
handicapped students. Two bake sales were held in the school premises to collect
money for tea party to be arranged in the orphanage. We had an enthusiastic
response.
Every one participated in the sale and purchase of food items and we collected
Rs 6900/- Meanwhile students from Class 5-2 volunteered to bring gift boxes
containing useful objects for every one in the orphanage.
Again the response we got from school was excellent and we collected over 50
gift boxes. A tea party was held on saturday 9th April and was a great success.
Th eold ladies were the first ones to be served with the cakes and gifts, then
the handicapped and the abondoned children.
Their eyes were gleaming with joy and they had an afternoon
of fun which was a great change from their normal routine.

For the students it was a very moving experience opening their eyes to a
different kind of life in a different world. They all promised to go there on a
regular basis. The people at the orphanage warmly requested us to keep up our
visits.
The students have been involved at all levels to improve their surroundings.
three groups of students from O'1 took up painting projects in the Junior
Section to brighten up the corridors and to increase the knowledge of the
students about relevant topics,
In the attached picture we can see the students painting and enthusiastically
interacting with people from the orphanage. Children patrolled the place and
ensured that no litter/rrubbish was thrown here and there they also scrubbed the
desks and supervised the unkeep of other furniture as well. They made awareness
posters to explain the impostance of neat surroundings. The activity had a good
impact on our fellow friends who observed us carrying out this activity.

This activity was carried out by 10 students and it was facilitated by Uzma
Latif and Mashal Najeeb.
