Global Youth Service Day, is
the largest service event in the
world, mobilizes youth to identify
and address the needs of their
communities through service,
develops the next generations of
volunteers and educates the public
about the year round contributions
of young people as community
leaders. The GYSD events and
activities takes place in over 100
countries around the world
simultaneously.
iEARN
Pakistan mobilizes youth and educators
every year to join this global event and
participate in this global event
with full enthusiasm
On Global Youth
Service Day, millions of young
people in countries everywhere
highlight and carry out thousands of
community improvement projects. GYSD
offers a way for local, national,
and international organizations to:
BUILD
the capacity of an international
network of organizations that
promotes youth participation,
service, and learning;
EDUCATE the public, the media, and
policy-makers about the year-round
contributions of young people as
community leaders around the world;
MOBILIZE youth and adults to meet
the needs of their communities
through volunteering; and
LEARN and share effective practices
in youth service, youth voice, and
civic engagement in the world today.
How
to Participate:
Step-1: Plan your Community
Service Projects
Step-2: Register your
class/project at
www.gysd.net/apply
Step-3:
Post your plans in the iEARN
Interactive Forum 'CIVICS' under the
discussion heading 'GYSD
Plans 2010'.
Step-4: Once the
projects are completed Post your
project reports with few pictures in
the 'CIVICS' under the
discussion heading 'GYSD
Reports 2010'.
Note:
All participating students who will
post their reports will get a
certificate of participation as
well.

and submit the
online membership
form.

to help with planning. The Planning

All
participating students whose
completed project reports are posted
in the
CIVICS forum will
get a certificate of appreciation
from iEARN. Make sure each report
has the full names of the students, school addresses
and teachers name.

their teachers for a day long
training program focused at
initiating, implementing and
engaging students in Community
Service Projects. Click for
