my report.

Recycling
Area: -
PMTF (Pakistan Machine Tool Factory) housing
colony.
Schedule we worked: -
Alternate day for 3-4 hours.

Me (Firasat) and my Friends.
Report: -
My project is recycling. When I was started my
project it seems difficult but as my friends and I
go through it becomes more interesting. First of all
my friends and I collect the materials which could
be recycled. These materials included used tin
packs, cardboard boxes, plastic and glass bottles,
newspapers and rough notebooks and so many other
things. We collected it from neighbor’s houses, my
friend’s houses, general store and my house.
Newspaper and old notebooks: -
First of all, we sold all old newspapers and
notebooks. And the money we got from it was spend to
buy the stuff like paints boxes, brushes, glue and
other thing which could be helpful in recycling the
things. We bought these entire things from Karimabad
Market. Well, after then we started our work. We
worked for 3-4 hours in alternate day. Our work took
to much time because it take much time paint things
and let them dry. Sometime it took 2 days to recycle
one thing but it was fun.
Gift papers:-
Well... first thing I recycled was the old gift
papers. We made paper bag from them.
Metal Tin Pack: -
Then I had an old metal tin. We made a dustbin
from it. We covered the whole tin from jute and then
decorate it with mirrors and stars.
Wooden board: -
Then I had a useless wooden board. I covered it
from Formic Sheet and flower on it with formic sheet
and that became a beautiful wall hanging. Then we
also made a nice wall hanging from the jute, which
was decorated with the small pots and other thing.
Glass bottles: -
I had also glass bottle. I made a tooth brush
stand of it by using spray paints on it. I also made
a pencil stand from a glass bottle.
Candle and Wax: -
Then we had candles and wax. I melt them again
and add some food color additive in it and the made
new colorful candles from it. I also made a
decorative piece from wax. We use a drinking glass
and wax to make it. That was one of my favorite
things, which I made. My sister gave the idea to
make that.
Old clothes: -
My friends and I finds a lot of old clothes in
our home. We were donating it to housemaid. But my
maid gave me idea to make " Rilli " from the old
cloths. We donate some clothes, which were in good
condition to my maid, and other was used in making
Rilli. It is a type of traditional bed sheet.
Usually Sindhi people use it in their home. My maid
helped us in making it and it was looking so
beautiful. But making Rilli was not the cup of tea.
It took a week to complete. After making Rilli, I
realized stitching is not an easy work. But that was
really an interesting and good experience of making
Rilli.
Pots: -
I also made pots from butter paper and aluminum
foil sheet. There were two. One was made by butter
paper and other one was a sugar pot, made by
aluminum foil sheet.
Experience: -
Hmmm… I had the interesting experience by this
project. I think there are so many things around us,
which we consider as useless. But these things can
be use in various works. By working in this project
I realize that nothing is useless in this world.
Every thing has its own purpose. And we can use many
things again and again. We spend a lot of money in
buying decorative material for our home and so many
other things. But we can make it in our home. When
we make things by our own hands, we realize the real
price of these things. We care them a lot because we
have realized what is actually hard work. Well,
recycling was such a great experience. We consider
so many things as garbage but they can help us in so
many ways. We consider them as rubbish. But they are
very useful. I think, the most important thing I
experienced by working in this project was the
importance of the things. Umm… about other
experiences… well, when I was working o this
project, I felt how much we are neglecting our
world. It is polluting and there is a big hand of us
I polluting it. And I think we should do something
for it. And recycling can help it very much. We
through our garbage outside and it is very harmful
for environment. Well the other interesting
experience was making Rilli. It was such a nice
experience and I personally enjoyed it a lot.
How did this experience differ from what I expected:
-
I was expecting that this project would be
difficult as well as boring. But as I started
working on this project, I realize that it is such
an interesting work but it needs hard work also. And
it also wants creativity. If one is creative mind
person, so he can be perfect for this project
