The English Access Microscholarship Program (Access) provides a foundation of English language skills to non-elite, students through after-school classes and intensive summer learning activities. Access students increase their ability to participate successfully in the socio-economic development of their countries, and gain the ability to compete for and participate in future study abroad and exchange programs. Since its inception in 2004, approximately 55,000 students in more than 70 countries have participated in the Access Program.

Access-Karachi is the worlds largest Access program; an effort of US Embassy Islamabad with SIE  to provide opportunities to Pakistani youth ages 14-16 to become  bilingual professionals that can help to expand the bilingual workforce and prepare themselves to assume responsibilities in international enterprises both in  Pakistan and other countries and set a positive precedent within their communities.

Society for International Education (SIE) has partnered with US Embassy Islamabad to implement the Access program in Karachi.

SIE is offering a 406 hours of modular program for English Access Microscholarship Programs focusing basic to intermediate level of language proficiency, spread over a 24-month period beginning October 2010 and ending September 2012.  SIE and its partner schools in Karachi have established well equipped Access Centre, for 1500 underprivileged students ages 14-16 from 15 different non-elite locations/communities of Karachi.

Access Karachi (2010 - 2012) has successfully been completed. We congratulate the students and the teacher for their dedicated efforts they made throughout the program.
