iEARN Beginners Teachers' Training Workshop- Lahore

                              13th,14th and 15th October  2003


15 educators from 10  public schools have successfully attended the 3 days iEARN  Training Program, that introduced them to the online collaborative projects featured in the iEARN Programs: CIVICS, BRIDGE and FTE.

These programs are sponsored by iEARN-US and US Department of Education and Beareau of Cultural Affairs.

Most of the participating schools are adopted by ITA as a part of their school improvement program. The schools are located in very poor localities and ITA is working with the district education offices for the development and uplifting of the educational standards of these schools.

"In these two days I gained very much new trends of teaching methodology .By this program we have learnt different techniques of teaching for beginners .we gained new information of technology. New ways of teaching arrived in to our mind and in this way a better educational system introduced and every participants gain too much knowledge of new era ‘s technology. I again thanks to all who settled this computer programmed for us."

iEARN-Pakistan in collaboration with ITA (Idara Taleem O Agahi) organised a 3 days iEARN Beginners Teacher Training Workshop at The Lords International School of Lahore

ITA professionals and the Chairmain of Lords International School  joined the group for the closing of the workshop and distributed the certificates.

"This is a valuable experience for me as iEARN enabled us to be linked locally and globally thus providing us an atmosphere for learning and sharing. Also a safe and secure environment where students and teachers can work together closely."

The participants  have enthusiastically completed all the offline and online  workshop activities and made real efforts to learn the skills and understand the concept of shared online learning.

The three days session was facilitated by  iEARN trainer Tahir Hussain , Sarah Alam. They were  supported by ITA teachers Kashif Abid and Raheela from a public school who participated in iEARN workshop in May 2003. These teachers will then take responsibility of following up with the newly trained teachers and support the new schools.
