iEARN-CIVICS Phase-1:1999-2000
The iEARN CIVICS
Program was initiated in Pakistan in 1999 by piloting it in 2
Pakistani schools; Sultan Mohamed Shah Aga Khan School-Karachi and the Headstart
School-Islamabad. Rachelle Englar an iEARN
trainer from USA spend two weeks in Karachi and Islamabad training the pioneering group of
iEARN teachers in Pakistan from 6 different schools . As part
of the CIVICS Phase -1 activities Farah
S.Kamal from SMS Aga Khan School and Shahnaz Zafar from Headstart School participated
in a 3 weeks iEARN
training programme in USA.
Following this training iEARN CIVICS students projects was successfully integrated in several schools in Pakistan . The Phase -1 developed
local expertise capable enough to respond to the training and support needs for new iEARN schools and programs in Pakistan.

CIVICS Phase -2: 2000-2001
Two Pakistani Educators
Ms.
Farah Kamal
and Nazleen
Shiraz of SMS Aga Khan School traveled to Cairo to participate
in a CIVICS-regional conference.
Nazleen Shiraz went ahead to
participate in an exchange and training program with community and
schools of New Maxico-USA
Bina
Ashraf Ali from Dawood Public School participated in a 3 weeks
exchange program in Sunnyside Elementary School in
Washington, USA.

CIVICS Phase -3: 2001-2002
45 educators from 20 schools of different cities of Pakistan
received 3 days teacher training in two workshops organized in collaboration with Consulate General of US in Karachi and Islamabad.
Mr. Nasim Siddique
of NCC School Rawalpindi and Ms. Parveen
Mehboob of Al Murtaza School have
successfully merited to participate in a 3 weeks iEARN Teachers Training and Development Programme

iEARN CIVICS Phase -4: 2002-2003
And now in 2002, we are
preparing to launch the Phase -4 of the
CIVICS Project which will recruit 15 new schools and train 30
teachers nationwide in an iEARN CIVICS-BRIDGE national Workshop. |
