Ms.
Virginia King the President of iEARN Australia and a member of iEARN International Secretariat,
visited Karachi
from
1st to 5th February 2003
Ms.
King joined the iEARN Pakistan staff in several
iEARN activities promoting the iEARN-Pakistan programs and strengthening
the ties between Australian and Pakistani educators and students. |

A
significant activity of her visit include the Launching of Lewin 2002
with the Pakistani student editors of Sultan Mohamed Shah Aga
Khan School.Beside this
Virgina King, talked to various groups of
educators and students emphasizing the importance of online collaborative
learning. She presented iEARN Orientations and workshops
and made schools visits and met iEARN students and educators.
Her visit has
supported the iEARN Pakistan efforts for outreach as well as strengthened
the ties among Pakistani and Australian iEARNers.

Collaborative
approach to language learning- a workshop that Virginia
facilitated focusing the iEARN
project 'Lewin' attracted 40 ELTs in a 3 hours workshop organized
by the SPELT (Society of Pakistan English Language Teachers) |

"I interacted online with Dania
and Maria, responding to their concerns and queries similarly
as my own students would stop me in the corridors of
Bairnsdale College in Sydney", said Ms. King reflecting on
her experience of working collaboratively with Maria and Dania
of SMS Aga Khan School, the Pakistani student editors of Lewin
2002.
